SION, Switzerland, Nov. 8 (Xinhua) -- For Switzerland, the CIIE provides a remarkable stage to showcase "our authenticity, diversity, and excellence," said Damian Indermitte, marketing director of Maison Gilliard, one of Switzerland's oldest wineries located in the southern Canton of Valais.
Indermitte told Xinhua in a recent interview that he and his team are proud to present their wines at the 8th China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai, calling it "one of the most important and prestigious platforms in China."
Maison Gilliard's Alpine wines are featured at the booth of the Swiss Centers, which has brought together more than 25 Swiss companies. The booth, located in the food and agricultural products section, spans 290 square meters -- the largest Swiss presence at the expo to date.
Indermitte expressed hope that Chinese visitors and wine lovers would discover and enjoy their wines at the CIIE and visit their cellars and vineyards in Valais.
Valais alone boasts more than 50 grape varieties, he said, adding that Maison Gilliard already exports to China and sees great potential in the market. ■
