BOGOTA, Dec. 30 (Xinhua) -- Colombian President Gustavo Petro said on Tuesday that U.S. President Donald Trump had ordered the bombing of a suspected cocaine processing facility in Maracaibo, a city in northwestern Venezuela.
The site, taking advantage of Maracaibo's coastal location, is believed to have been used to process coca paste into cocaine, Petro wrote on the social platform X.
He suggested that the facility was operated by the National Liberation Army guerrilla group without providing further details.
Trump said on Friday that the United States had destroyed a "big facility along the shore" of Venezuela the previous week, but did not specify which facility or its exact location, said reports. ■
