MEXICO CITY, Dec. 30 (Xinhua) -- Veteran striker Salomon Rondon has cut short his loan spell at Real Oviedo to rejoin FC Pachuca, the Mexican club said on Tuesday.
The 36-year-old is due to return to Mexico in the coming days despite having six months left on his Real Oviedo deal.
"The king returns. We welcome Salomon Rondon, the hero who had the courage to come back," Pachuca said in a video posted on social media.
Rondon scored two goals in 16 games for Real Oviedo after joining the Spanish club on a season-long loan in July.
The Venezuela international has netted 36 times in 70 games for Pachuca, having arrived in January 2024 from River Plate. His contract with the Liga MX club runs until December 2027.
The Liga MX Clausura season is due to begin on January 9. ■
