BEIJING, Sept. 18 (Xinhua) -- The following is a selection of remarks on the Belt and Road Initiative made by Chinese President Xi Jinping, who is also general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee.

"In a world of growing inter-dependence and challenges, no country can tackle the challenges or solve the world's problems on its own.
